Pressure Systems Piping Failure: Independent Root Cause Analysis

Pipeline Life-Extension Assessment: Fatigue Analysis
Ageing and life extension issues are prevalent in the UKCS, largely because of the high proportion of asset inventories which are now operating well beyond their original design lives. The need to determine on-going fitness-for-service for an extended operating life is a clear necessity; this is accomplished by a number of means, using observational and analytical methods. The attached summarises pipeline fatigue calculations performed in order to understand the effects of progressive pressure cycling and whether such may compromise pipeline integrity within the period of extended operating life.
